SAFE ENVIRONMENT

St. Peter Parish takes the commitment to protect children very seriously. Following the charter of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the directives from the Archbishop, all new volunteers and employees (18 years and older) and those who have regular contact with minors must:
- attend a safe environment training session (good for 3 years)
- give permission for a background check to be completed by the parish or school
- complete the on-line application to register with the archdiocese.
Adults may attend any session offered by the Archdiocese. Please refer to the schedule of Safe Environment Training in the menu on the right of this page. For additional information please contact the Office of Religious Education, 985.893.2446. To schedule a session, please contact:

The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services provides a toll-free number, 855-4LA-KIDS (855-452-5437), for anyone in the state to call and report child abuse or neglect. This one number can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to speak to a trained child welfare worker to report possible abuse and neglect.
