In writing to the Corinthians, St. Paul reminded these first Christians, “we are God’s fellow workers” (1 Cor 3:9). There are many things that are needed in our broken world, but few if any are more desperately needed than prayer, because when prayers go up graces come down. It is the prayer of Jesus that makes our prayers powerful, because he prays in us and with us.
Those involved in prayer ministries at St. Peter lift up the needs of our parish family to the Father in the Son and through the Holy Spirit. No wonder the Catechism makes the words of St. John Chrysostom its own: “Nothing is equal to prayer; for what is impossible it makes possible, what is difficult, easy.”
